Job summary

Scicom MSC Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to manage and optimise our cloud-native infrastructure, AI-related services and databases. You will deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters, build automation, and ensure high availability of production systems.

Responsibilities include monitoring, incident response, and supporting CI/CD improvements. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in DevOps or cloud-native roles, with Python/Java/Go skills and English documentation.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduate accepted; 1–2 years preferred in DevOps or cloud-native roles.
• Strong Kubernetes deployment, management and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in Python, Java or Go.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure is a plus.
• Fluent Mandarin and strong English for documentation.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Operation Engineer to manage, maintain and optimise our cloud-native infrastructure, AI-related services and database systems. You will be responsible for Kubernetes cluster operations, infrastructure automation, system monitoring and troubleshooting, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, stability and performance of online services.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes (K8s) clusters and containerised workloads to ensure stable production environments.
• Develop automation scripts and internal tools using Python, Java or Go to reduce manual workload.
• Manage and maintain databases, including routine maintenance, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and fault resolution.
• Build and maintain observability systems, including log collection, metrics monitoring and performance tracking.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimise CI/CD workflows and improve delivery efficiency.
• Perform daily system checks, incident handling, root cause analysis, and implement optimisation plans.

Required Qualifications & Core Skills

• Fresh graduate is also welcomed
• 1-2 years' experience is preferred in the following
• Strong experience in DevOps, system operations, or cloud-native environments.
• Hands-on experience deploying, managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java or Go.
• Experience operating or maintaining AI/ML systems and related infrastructure.
• Fluent Mandarin for daily communication and strong English for documentation.
• Good understanding of Linux, networking and cloud-native architecture.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with OpenSearch, Grafana, ELK Stack, and APM tools.
• Familiarity with Argo ecosystem (ArgoCD, Argo Workflows) for GitOps and orchestration.
• Experience building end-to-end observability platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
