Job summary

Food Journal Sdn Bhd is seeking a cafe associate to ensure smooth dine-in service, take accurate orders, and provide friendly, efficient customer support. You will handle payments, upsell food and drinks, and maintain a clean, well-stocked service area.

The role requires good English communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Join a growing F&B group with multiple brands.

Responsibilities

• Set up café for dine-in including arranging tables and ensuring cleanliness.
• Manage customer queries in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
• Take food orders and enter into POS for kitchen transmission.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
• Present menu and serve food or beverages, upsell where appropriate.
• Clean tables and ensure adequate stock of cutlery and linens at server stations.
• Perform cleaning duties (floors, vacuum, tidying stations).
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Job description

To have full knowledge of all menu items and able to interpret in any customer’s queries about our product accurately.

Setting up of café for dine in, include setting up tables and ensuring general cleanliness of the café.

Manage customer queries in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.

Maintain positive attitude and resolved customer complaints promptly.

Write customers’ food orders and enter orders into POS system for transmittal to kitchen.

Handled cash and credit card transaction accurately.

Present menu and serve food or beverages to customer.

Able to recommend and upsell the food & beverage to customer.

Clean tables after customers have finished dining.

Ensure server stations are adequate stocks with necessary cutlery, tableware linen and other service requirements.

Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, tidying server station and others.

Perform other ad- hoc duties as assigned.

Position Requirement:

Qualifications: minimum SPM/ STPM.

Good communication skills. Required language(s): English.

Able to work on shifts, weekends and during Public Holidays.

Patience and friendly attitude.

Pleasant personality and team player who is highly independent self-motivatedresults-oriented.
