Role Description

The Senior Warehouse Automation Solution Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Selangor, Malaysia. This role is responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing automated warehouse solutions, including conveyor systems, robotics, AS/RS, and integrated control systems. Day-to-day tasks include assessing client operational requirements, developing conceptual and detailed designs, preparing technical specifications, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery. The engineer will conduct system simulations, performance analyses, and on-site commissioning, as well as troubleshoot and optimize existing automation setups to improve throughput, accuracy, and safety. The role also involves preparing documentation, training warehouse operations teams on new systems, and providing ongoing technical support and continuous improvement recommendations.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of warehouse automation technologies such as conveyors, robotics, AS/RS, sortation systems, and automated guided vehicles, with experience integrating these into end-to-end solutions.
• Proficiency in system design and engineering, including layout planning, material flow analysis, capacity calculations, and system modeling or simulation tools.
• Experience with industrial control systems, such as PLC programming, SCADA/HMI interfaces, sensors, and integration with WMS/WCS/ERP platforms.
• Background in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder communication, risk management, and vendor coordination.
• Ability to conduct technical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization of mechanical, electrical, and software components in automated systems.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Previous experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics, or material handling projects at a senior or lead engineer level.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate operational requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation, proposals, and training materials.
• Willingness to work on-site at customer facilities as needed, with occasional travel and hands‑on involvement in installation and commissioning.
