Job summary

ZMC Technologies, Malaysia, seeks an experienced Senior Technician to support semiconductor equipment installation activities in Malaysia and across Asia. Key tasks include pre-installation, site readiness verification, equipment move-in, level and placement, and coordinating utility hook-ups to ensure safe power-up and commissioning by the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Advanced Diploma / SKM / Certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Preferably 3–5 years or more of relevant technical experience.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment installation, tool move-in, facilities hook-up, or equipment setup.
• Good practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical installation work.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor equipment utilities such as electrical power, CDA, nitrogen, vacuum, cooling water, and exhaust systems.
• Able to read equipment layout drawings, installation drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiar with basic hand tools, measurement tools, and installation equipment.
• Able to perform basic electrical checks using appropriate test instruments.
• Strong awareness of EHS and site safety requirements.
• Able to work independently and as part of an installation team.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-installation and installation activities up to power-up.
• Review installation requirements, layout drawings, and utility needs.
• Verify site readiness before equipment delivery and installation.
• Assist loading, move-in, positioning, levelling, and placement per layout.
• Assist with unpacking and inspection for damage or missing items.
• Coordinate and support utility hook-up activities.
• Support connection and verification of cables, hoses, piping, and interfaces.
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical installation per specs and work instructions.
• Verify grounding, power connection, safety requirements, and utility readiness pre power-up.
• Conduct pre-power-up checks with the installation team.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Technicians to support semiconductor equipment installation activities in Malaysia and rest of Asia. The team will be responsible primarily for pre-installation activities and installation support up to equipment power-up. The role involves site preparation, equipment move-in, positioning, utility readiness, hook-up coordination, basic installation work, and technical support to ensure that the equipment is safely and properly prepared for power-up and subsequent commissioning by the equipment engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Support semiconductor equipment pre-installation and installation activities up to power-up stage
• Review equipment installation requirements, layout drawings, utility requirements, and pre-installation checklists
• Verify site readiness before equipment delivery and installation
• Support equipment unloading, move-in, positioning, levelling, and placement according to approved layout
• Assist with equipment unpacking and visual inspection for transportation damage or missing items
• Coordinate and support utility hook-up activities
• Support connection and verification of cables, hoses, piping, and other equipment interfaces
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical installation activities according to equipment specifications and work instructions
• Verify equipment grounding, power connection, safety requirements, and utility readiness prior to power-up
• Conduct pre-power-up checks together with the equipment Engineer or installation team

About you
