Job summary

Swarovski in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer for Retail Planning & Merchandising to own the end-to-end technical health, availability and operational readiness of the Retail Planning service today and into the future.

You will troubleshoot SQL Server databases and SSAS, read and write T-SQL objects (stored procedures, views, functions), monitor daily and weekly jobs, provide 1st and 2nd level support, and drive automation and data quality across connected platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in enterprise application or data-platform engineering with hands-on SQL Server experience.
• Solid experience in SQL Server administration, T-SQL development, stored procedures, views, functions, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Windows Server environments, and batch processing operations.
• Experience monitoring and supporting enterprise applications using Splunk, scheduling platforms, logs, and alerting systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus on automation, operational excellence, and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical health, availability and operational readiness of the Retail Planning & Merchandising service.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server databases and Analysis Services, including connectivity, permissions, processing and performance.
• Read, write, maintain and troubleshoot SQL Server objects (stored procedures, views, functions) and data-processing logic.
• Monitor and recover daily and weekly jobs using Windows Task Scheduler, Splunk, logs and alerts.
• Provide 1st and 2nd-level support, root-cause analysis and vendor escalation for incidents.
• Coordinate upgrades, releases, testing, system copies, housekeeping and data-purge activities.
• Drive automation, data quality improvements and continuous service improvement.

About the job

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Own the end-to-end technical health, availability and operational readiness of the Retail Planning & Merchandising service, today for the Retail Planning solution from the software vendor Aptean Troubleshoot SQL Server databases and Analysis Services, including connectivity, permissions, processing and performance Be able to read, write, maintain and troubleshoot SQL Server stored procedures, views, functions and data-processing logic Monitor and recover daily and weekly jobs using Windows Task Scheduler, Splunk, logs and alerts Provide 1st and 2nd-level support, root-cause analysis and vendor escalation for critical or recurring incidents Support MFP/OTB, Allocation, Forecasting, Replenishment, Assortment Planning, Events and user administration and establish a reasonable process knowledge Write technical specifications or coordinate with software vendor for business change requests Trace and resolve data-flow issues across connected systems such as SAP ERP, SAP BW, SAP IBP, GCP, Anaplan Coordinate upgrades, releases, testing, system copies, housekeeping and data-purge activities Maintain technical documentation, monitoring, recovery procedures and reusable support knowledge Drive automation, performance optimization, data quality and continuous service improvement Be flexible for new planning platform assessment, implementation and rollout.

About you

Degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, business informatics or comparable qualification. 7+ years in enterprise application or data-platform engineering, including strong hands-on SQL Server experience and support of business-critical integrated services Solid experience in SQL Server administration, T-SQL development, stored procedures, views, functions, indexing, and performance tuning Strong knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Windows Server environments, and batch processing operations Experience monitoring and supporting enterprise applications using tools such as Splunk, scheduling platforms, logs, and alerting systems Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus on automation, operational excellence, and service quality Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical and data-related issues.
