Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) is seeking a Team Leader to motivate, coach, and manage a high-performance team within daily banking operations. You will oversee workflows, ensure service level adherence, and drive improvements while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years in banking with supervisory experience, strong product knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in the banking industry, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Strong understanding of banking products, services, and operational processes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the Malaysian banking sector.

Responsibilities

• Motivate, coach, and manage a team of individuals, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee daily operations and workflow, ensuring adherence to established procedures and service level agreements.
• Monitor team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
• Handle complex customer inquiries and escalations, ensuring satisfactory resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management guidelines.
• Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Prepare and present performance reports to senior management.
