Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. System Engineer in Kulai, Malaysia to roll out and maintain business-critical server and HPC applications. You will troubleshoot, document procedures, and drive technical development with leadership and clear communication.

You will collaborate with production, hardware, networking, software, and customer teams; contribute to testing platforms and automation using Linux, Python, Shell, and Ansible to ensure robust, high-performance systems.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication, Electrical/Electronic) is preferable.
• Around 5 years of relevant server-related engineering experience.
• Intermediate English proficiency for reading technical docs and basic conversation.
• Familiarity with BIOS/BMC operations and server production testing is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Linux and OS deployment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Set up, test, deploy, and provide daily technical support for Server, AI Server, GPU Server, HPC Cluster, Storage, and Network systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by analyzing OS, BMC, drivers, kernel, and test logs.
• Maintain test automation, system diagnostic tools, log parsing, and data processing with Linux, Shell Script, Python, or Ansible.
• Perform functional testing, benchmarking, and performance analysis for various workloads.
• Prepare testing reports, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
• Work with Production, Hardware, Networking, Software, PM, FAE, and Customer teams to resolve issues.
• Support development and maintenance of internal testing platforms and monitoring tools.
