Supermicro is seeking a System Engineer in Malaysia to deploy, validate, and support enterprise server, AI server, GPU server, HPC cluster, storage, and networking solutions. You will focus on system troubleshooting, performance optimization, and test automation to ensure reliable operation and customer satisfaction.

The role collaborates with Production, Hardware, Networking, Software, PM, FAE, and Customer teams to resolve project-related issues, develop SOPs, and maintain internal testing

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication, Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent field preferred.
• Experience around 5 years in server-related engineering generally preferred, with strong capability encouraged.
• Intermediate English proficiency for technical docs and basic conversations is beneficial.
• Familiarity with BIOS and BMC operations and concepts is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Set up, test, deploy, and provide daily technical support for Server, AI Server, GPU Server, HPC Cluster, Storage, and Network systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by analyzing OS, BMC, drivers, kernel, and test logs; identify root causes and propose improvements.
• Maintain test automation, system diagnostic tools, log parsing, and data processing using Linux, Shell Script, Python, or Ansible.
• Perform functional testing, benchmarking, and performance analysis for server workloads including multi-GPU and HPC environments.
• Prepare testing reports, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Hardware, Networking, Software, PM, FAE, and Customer teams to resolve issues.

The System Engineer is responsible for deploying, validating, and supporting enterprise server, AI server, GPU server, HPC cluster, storage, and networking solutions. The role focuses on system troubleshooting, performance optimization, test automation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable system performance, successful product delivery, and customer satisfaction.

What will be your task:

Set up, test, deploy, and provide daily technical support for Server, AI Server, GPU Server, HPC Cluster, Storage, and Network systems.

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by analyzing OS, BMC, drivers, kernel, and test logs. Identify root causes and propose solutions for improvement.

Maintain test automation, system diagnostic tools, log parsing, and data processing solutions using Linux, Shell Script, Python, or Ansible.

Perform functional testing, benchmarking, and performance analysis for Server, GPU, Storage, Network, HPC, and AI workloads.

Prepare testing reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.

Work closely with Production, Hardware, Networking, Software, PM, FAE, and Customer teams to resolve project-related and technical issues.

Support the development and maintenance of internal testing platforms, monitoring systems, and management tools.

What can helped you succeed:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (Computer/ Telecommunication, Electrical/ Electronic) or an equivalent field is preferable. Relevant certifications are nice-to-have and would be considered an added advantage to the candidate.

Around 5 years of relevant experience in server-related engineering is generally preferred; however, candidates with slightly less experience who demonstrate strong capability are still encouraged to apply.

Intermediate English proficiency—particularly in reading technical documentation and engaging in basic conversation—ispreferredand will be viewed as beneficial for the role.

Familiarity with Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) and Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) operations and concepts is advantageous and will be considered added value.

Experience in server production testing processes is preferable and will be an added advantage.

Proficiency in the Linux OS and remote operation is preferred and would be beneficial to the role.

Hands-on experience with OS installation and deployment is advantageous and will be viewed as added value.

Knowledge of basic switch configuration and network architecture concepts is nice-to-have and would provide an advantage to the candidate.

Familiarity with server-related operational software tools is preferable and will be considered an added advantage.

Understanding of performance testing and benchmarking for servers—including multi-GPU and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments—is beneficial and may provide added value to the candidate.
