The role leads HVAC operations in mission-critical data centre environments, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety.

You will manage maintenance, diagnostics, and coordination with technicians and vendors, while upholding EHS standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years HVAC experience, preferably in data centre operations.
• Experience engaging with data centre customers and managing expectations.
• Based in Johor Bahru and able to support regional operations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, servicing, and maintenance of HVAC systems in data centre environments.
• Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance for chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, cooling towers.
• Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance optimisation of HVAC and data centre cooling systems.

Position Overview

The Senior Services HVAC Engineer (Data Centre Focus) is responsible for planning, executing, and providing technical support for HVAC operations within mission-critical data centre environments. The role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of cooling infrastructure while supporting customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, servicing, and maintenance of HVAC systems, including data centre cooling solutions and mission-critical equipment.
• Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance for chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, cooling towers, and associated HVAC infrastructure.
• Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance optimisation for HVAC and data centre cooling systems.
• Lead and supervise technicians or subcontractors to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned tasks.
• Communicate with data centre customers to coordinate work schedules, address concerns, provide updates, and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Support planning, documentation, and reporting for maintenance schedules and operational activities.
• Work closely with vendors and contractors for job coordination and materials sourcing.
• Ensure all work follows relevant EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards and internal quality requirements.
• Respond to urgent or unplanned maintenance needs; willingness to work extended or irregular hours as required by data centre operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience, preferably supporting data centre operations or mission-critical cooling systems.
• Experience engaging with data centre customers and managing customer expectations in a high-demand environment.
• Based in Johor Bahru and able to support regional operations as needed.

Technical / Functional Expertise

• Strong technical expertise in chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, HVAC system controls, and cooling optimisation.
• Experience in technical support, servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance optimisation of HVAC and data centre cooling systems.
• Knowledge of corrective and preventive maintenance practices for chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, cooling towers, and associated HVAC infrastructure.
• Understanding of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards and quality compliance requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and contractors for job execution and materials sourcing.
• Willingness to provide after-hours support and respond to urgent operational requirements.
