Job summary

Accenture in Malaysia seeks an experienced IBM S/390 COBOL Developer to join our Technology team. You will design, develop, and configure AS400/IBM S/390 COBOL modules and interfaces for mission-critical banking and payments systems.

You will work with global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, applying SDLC best practices and staying current with emerging technologies. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in AS400 or IBM S/390 COBOL development.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, SQL, and DB2 databases.
• Experience in the Banking industry, preferably Payments.
• Familiarity with JIRA and ALDON.
• Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications across the SDLC.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work with clients and cross-functional teams.

• Design, develop, and configure AS400 / IBM S/390 COBOL software modules and interfaces.
• Deliver high-quality software solutions within timelines.
• Analyze and implement enhancements to improve system functionality.
• Apply software development standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in full SDLC: development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and clients to ensure delivery.
• Continuously enhance technical knowledge and stay current with emerging technologies.
