Job summary

Our client, an established international main contractor, seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support its Nilai project. The role covers commercial and contractual activities for CSA works, including costing, subcontractor management, progress claims, variations, and final accounts.

Key duties include cost analysis, budgeting, tender evaluation, subcontractor claims, and final accounts, with liaising across project teams to ensure cost control and profitability.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Relevant experience in quantity surveying within construction.
• Strong exposure to CSA works; main contractor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage CSA commercial matters and project costs.
• Perform quantity take-off and cost analysis from drawings.
• Prepare budgets and monitor costs vs. budget.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and review subcontracts' progress claims and final accounts.
• Conduct site measurements and verify works; prepare monthly progress claims.

Our client is an established international main contractor and is currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (CSA) to support its ongoing construction project in Nilai.

This role will be responsible for commercial and contractual activities relating to Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) works, covering project costing, subcontractor management, progress claims, variation orders and final accounts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage quantity surveying and commercial matters for CSA construction works.
• Perform quantity take off and cost analysis based on construction drawings
• Prepare project budgets and monitor actual costs against budget
• Obtain, review and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist with tender evaluation and subcontractor appointment
• Prepare and review subcontractor progress claims
• Conduct site measurement and verify completed works
• Prepare monthly progress claims for submission to clients
• Prepare, evaluate and negotiate variation orders
• Manage final accounts with clients, subcontractor and suppliers
• Monitor project expenditure and identify potential commercial risks
• Liaise closely with project, design, procurement and construction teams
• Maintain proper contractual and commercial documentation
• Assist management in achieving project cost and profitability objectives

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or equivalent
• Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry
• Strong exposure to Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) works
• Main contractor experience is highly preferred
• Good understanding of construction drawings, quantities, contractors and costing
• Strong experience in progress claims, VO, subcontractor claims and final accounts
• Good negotiation, communication and analytical skills
• Able to work independently and manage multiple commercial matters
• Willing to be based at the Nilai project site
