Job summary

CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Kuching. The role involves preparing interim payments, variation orders, EOTs, and managing subcontractor settlements.

You will handle cost estimates, tender support, and contract administration while coordinating site valuations and measurements. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in quantity surveying, a Bachelor’s degree in QS or equivalent, and familiarity with local subcontractors and regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in quantity surveying.
• Experience in building construction and subcontractor settlement.
• Knowledge of regulations, costing, and materials budgeting.
• Experience in Kuching or familiarity with local subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit Interim Payment claims monthly to the Client.
• Prepare Variation Orders and cost estimates; justify and finalize variations.
• Prepare Extension of Time applications with supporting documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors; verify claims and issue payment certificates.
• Manage progress payments, tenders, and contract administration tasks.
• Attend site valuations, measurements, and meetings; prepare Minutes of Meetings.
• Take-offs from drawings for costing and procurement.
