Job summary

AGENSI PEKERJAAN TRUST RECRUIT SDN. BHD. seeks a skilled Quantity Surveyor to lead cost control for diverse construction projects. You will prepare cost plans, monitor budgets, and conduct financial feasibility analyses, ensuring contracts are managed from pre- through post-contract stages.

The role covers procurement, tendering, evaluation, and contract administration, with responsibilities expanding to leadership of the QS/Cost Control team as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Building, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Experience in Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, Cost Control or Commercial Management within construction or property development.
• Experience in pre-contract and post-contract administration.
• Good knowledge of tendering, cost estimation, budgeting, BQ/BOQ preparation and contract administration.
• Familiarity with PAM, PWD or other standard forms of construction contracts.
• Experience handling Variation Orders, progress claims, contractual claims and final accounts.
• Good negotiation, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS / construction costing software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project cost estimates, budgets and cost plans for construction and development projects.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and identify potential cost variances.
• Conduct cost analysis, forecasting and financial feasibility assessments.
• Recommend cost-saving measures and value engineering solutions.
• Manage pre-contract and post-contract activities, including tender preparation, evaluation and contract administration.
• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BQ/BOQ), tender documents, Letters of Award (LOA) and contractual agreements.
• Liaise and negotiate with consultants, contractors, suppliers and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure contractual obligations and project requirements are properly managed.
• Lead, supervise and develop the QS/Cost Control team where applicable.
