Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline as listed.

Responsibilities

Job description

PXM Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company located in Bayan Lepas, Penang. We are seeking an experienced and highly responsible Senior QA Engineer to join our team.

This position will play a key role in ensuring product and process quality while taking full responsibility for the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the company's Integrated Management System (IMS), covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Quality Engineering

Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance procedures, standards and control plans to ensure product and process quality.

Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to reduce defects, customer complaints, rework and rejection rates.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Lead problem-solving activities using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, SPC and FMEA.

Monitor quality performance through appropriate KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Review and analyze production quality data, inspection results and process trends.

Work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and other departments to resolve quality issues.

Support NPI, pilot runs and new product introduction activities from a quality perspective.

Establish and maintain quality documentation, inspection standards, work instructions and quality records.

Coordinate customer complaints and ensure timely investigation, corrective action and closure.

Support supplier quality improvement activities where required.

ISO Management System – Full Responsibility

Take full ownership of the company's ISO Management System covering:

ISO 9001 - Quality Management System

ISO 45001 - Occupational Health & Safety Management System

Develop, implement, maintain and continually improve the Integrated Management System.

Ensure all departments comply with applicable ISO requirements, company procedures and documented processes.

Maintain and control ISO-related procedures, policies, manuals, forms, records and documented information.

Plan and coordinate internal audits, management review meetings and follow-up actions.

Coordinate with external certification bodies and auditors for surveillance and recertification audits.

Lead the preparation and coordination of external ISO audits.

Follow up on audit findings, observations, NCRs and corrective actions until effective closure.

Ensure departmental KPIs, objectives, risk assessments and improvement plans are properly established and monitored.

Identify applicable legal, regulatory and other compliance requirements related to quality, environmental and occupational safety matters.

Work closely with EHS and relevant departments to ensure ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements are effectively implemented.

Promote quality, environmental and occupational health & safety awareness throughout the organization.

Provide ISO-related training and awareness sessions to employees when required.

Ensure continual improvement of the company's management systems and maintain audit readiness at all times.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Strong experience in ISO 9001 and preferably hands-on experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Candidates with experience managing an integrated ISO management system will have an advantage.

Strong knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA, 5 Why and Root Cause Analysis.

Experience in conducting or coordinating internal and external ISO audits.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control and continuous improvement.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Able to work independently and take ownership of the ISO management system.

Good documentation and report-writing skills.

Proactive, systematic and detail-oriented with strong follow-up capability.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Experience in EMS / electronics manufacturing, SMT, assembly or similar manufacturing industries will be an advantage.
