Job summary

Mycron Steel Berhad is seeking a Purchasing Executive to assess and negotiate terms, source suppliers, and manage procurement activities. The role requires evaluating supplier performance, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of orders.

Ideal candidates have a degree or diploma in a related field and at least 5 years of experience, with strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, plus knowledge of contract management and procurement regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any related field.
• 5+ years of working experience; fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, good analytical abilities, and familiarity with contract management as well as procurement regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess, compare, and negotiate commercial terms outlined in agreements and quotes.
• Source suppliers to meet purchasing needs and support localization efforts.
• Monitor orders to guarantee timely delivery of outstanding items.
• Evaluate and track supplier performance and sustainability practices.
• Manage inventory levels and place orders for sub raw materials as necessary.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Review open purchase orders in the system to verify that all outstanding orders are properly closed and follow up accordingly.
• Ensure adherence to purchasing procedures in line with relevant ICPs, with all transactions properly approved.
• Assist with audits and other ad-hoc projects as needed.
