Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan GMRecruitment Sdn Bhd is hiring a Purchasing Exec in Pasir Gudang to manage the full purchasing cycle, from sourcing and quotes to PO processing and supplier follow-up.

The role focuses on supplier evaluation, negotiation, and cost control, ensuring timely delivery and accurate records, with ERP familiarity being advantageous. Fluency in English is required; Mandarin is a plus for supplier communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing / procurement.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation and cost control.
• Familiar with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / other ERP systems will be an advantage).
• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, inventory management and supplier management.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to work independently with good problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English; Mandarin communication skills will be an added advantage (if required for supplier communication).

Responsibilities

• Manage the full purchasing cycle including sourcing, quotation, negotiation, purchase order processing and supplier follow-up.
• Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality and timely delivery.
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, lead time and contract terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality and cost.
• Coordinate with internal departments (Production, Planning, Engineering, Warehouse and Finance) to support procurement requirements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier database and procurement documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels and support cost reduction initiatives.
• Prepare purchasing reports and provide procurement analysis to management.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
