Job summary

Eastern & Oriental Berhad in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Project Manager (Property & Construction Development) to monitor progress, supervise workmanship, and ensure safety and environmental compliance across sites. You will collaborate with the Project Director, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects on schedule and to specification.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 10 years of experience in property development or general project management,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of working experience in property development, especially in general project management.
• Well versed in understanding Structural and Architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of M&E works will be an advantage.
• Familiar with AutoCAD or BIM software.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the progress of construction, quality of workmanship, and compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements at project sites.
• Assist the Project Director in monitoring daily construction progress and coordination with contractors on site activities.
• Coordinate with project consultants on drawings, design changes, and project-related issues to facilitate timely resolution.
• Lead and manage project teams in all aspects of construction activities including drawing control, material inspection, quality control, and site monitoring.
• Lead the handover process, including inspection, documentation, defect rectification, and timely completion.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve construction and project-related issues to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to departmental teams, coordinating with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
