Job summary

ECO Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to lead multiple interior design and fit-out projects in Malaysia. You will oversee planning, site execution, cost control, stakeholder coordination, and ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant project management experience in interior design, commercial fit-out, renovation, or construction.
• Proven track record as Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with at least three projects, each valued RM10 million+.
• Experience managing multiple projects/sites concurrently.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, site coordination, subcontractor management, and documentation.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple interior design and fit-out projects from project initiation through to completion and handover.

You will be responsible for overall project planning, site execution, cost and resource management, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring projects are delivered according to agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall planning, coordination, execution, and control of multiple interior design and fit-out projects from initiation to completion and handover.

Conduct project feasibility assessments, develop project plans and budgets, and establish project timelines and milestones.

Prepare and maintain project documentation, site mobilisation plans, logistics plans, work schedules, and other project-related records.

Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, designers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Manage resources across multiple project sites, including manpower, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and other site requirements.

Monitor project progress and ensure that works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

Conduct regular site inspections and ensure that quality, workmanship, safety, and project standards are maintained throughout project execution.

Monitor project costs, variations, procurement, and overall budget performance, and take appropriate action to prevent cost overruns.

Ensure that all necessary permits, approvals, site requirements, and regulatory compliance obligations are properly obtained and maintained.

Identify potential project risks, delays, and operational issues, and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.

Maintain effective communication with senior management, clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders by providing regular project progress updates and preparing monthly project dashboard reports.

Lead project closeout activities, including final inspections, rectification works, completion documentation, and proper handover to clients.

Review project performance, identify lessons learned, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance future project execution.

Be willing to travel and be stationed at outstation project locations when required for project execution.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Minimum 15 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in interior design, commercial fit-out, renovation, or construction.

Proven track record as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, having successfully completed at least three (3) projects, each with an individual contract value of RM10 million or above.

Proven experience managing multiple projects and/or project sites simultaneously.

Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, site coordination, subcontractor management, and project documentation.

Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment with tight deadlines.

Good understanding of site operations, construction processes, materials, and project execution.

Willingness to travel and work on-site or at outstation project locations based on project requirements.

Candidates with experience in commercial interior fit-out projects, particularly corporate office projects, will have an added advantage.
