Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced project leader to head civil projects in Kulai, Johor. You will coordinate internal teams, consultants, and contractors with authorities and purchasers to deliver vacant possessions on time and to high quality standards.

You will manage quality, safety, and cost, perform inspections, handle variation orders, and ensure all planning/CCC approvals are obtained. A degree in civil engineering or PM with 10 years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management is required.
• 10 years experience minimum (3 years at management level)

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams comprising internal staff, consultants, and contractors, liaising with management, inter-departmental teams, authorities, the public, and purchasers to ensure successful implementation and completion of projects with delivery of vacant possessions on time, to above standard quality, and within company cost budget.
• Lead project team and liaise with management, inter-department, authorities, public, purchaser for successful implementation and completion of projects.
• Ensure proper management of project implementation to achieve Company's quality standard, delivery of vacant possession to purchasers in stipulated SPA timeframe, and compliance to safety, health and environment bylaws and regulations within budgeted cost.
• Manage the project team to perform checking and inspection of works according to highest reasonable practice and standard.
• Perform internal department audits and work together with internal QAQC and safety department to ensure work and sites are according to all contract requirements and bylaw regulations.
• Manage the project on Variation Order issues, foresee any VO works that possibly will be commented or required by authority or due to unavoidable site conditions, and plan and discuss mitigation plans as early as possible.
• Check and advise on any Safety and Health, Environmental, or Construction Bylaw requirements for provision in tender, contract, or award.
• Attend to and manage public complaints related to project and construction activities.
• Ensure all relevant planning and authority approvals required for sales launching and CCC purposes are obtained in time.
• Ensure smooth handover of vacant possession to purchasers and maintain good track record for defect works within liability period.
• Liaise and coordinate with all departments and project team for smooth HOVP processes.
