Job summary

ENPLUS SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned technical pre-sales leader to drive tendering, proposal development, and solution engineering for data centre, critical power and industrial infrastructure projects.

You will mentor the pre-sales team and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Production, Project Management and Service teams to deliver technically compliant, commercially competitive solutions. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• The candidate should hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in technical pre-sales, proposal engineering, tendering, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of gensets, data centre infrastructure, UPS systems, switchboards, PTUs and HVAC.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical solutions for genset containers, acoustic and fire-rated enclosures, PTUs, prefabricated power modules, and integrated electrical and mechanical systems.
• Review tender specifications, engineering drawings, BOMs, and customer requirements for compliance and feasibility.
• Oversee preliminary engineering assessments including layouts, airflow, acoustics, thermal management, and fire-rating.
• Evaluate design alternatives to optimise cost, performance, manufacturability and delivery timelines.
• Lead the preparation and review of technical proposals, tender submissions, compliance matrices, cost estimates and clarifications.
• Review supplier quotations and submissions to ensure alignment with specs and commercial objectives.
• Ensure quotations define scope, exclusions, assumptions, deviations and interfaces clearly.
• Identify risks, contractual obligations and potential variations before tender submission.
• Support customer presentations, tender negotiations and technical discussions.
• Lead, mentor and develop the pre-sales engineering team, including workload allocation and performance reviews.
• Establish standardised templates, costing methods, checklists, and tender review procedures.
• Coordinate with sales, engineering, procurement, production, project management and service teams for smooth handover after order confirmation.
• Engage with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to secure technical support and timely submissions.
• Drive continuous improvement in product standardisation and proposal quality.
