Job summary

Puncak Tegap Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Oracle Database professional to design, implement and maintain robust database solutions. You will work with IT project managers and system architects, establish user access control, ensure backup and recovery processes, and optimize storage and performance for mission-critical systems.

The role requires at least five years of Oracle DB development and administration, proficiency in Linux environments, Oracle Dataguard/RMAN, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software / database development experience with Oracle Database
• Experience in Oracle Database infrastructure and architecture design, Oracle SOA Suite (BPM), Enterprise Manager
• Experience in database optimization and performance tuning
• Experience with backup and restore, tablespace allocation/management, managing health and status of the database, managing schema, creating triggers and stored procedures, monitoring Oracle alert logs
• Experience configuring 11g/12c/19c databases in Linux
• Experience configuring Oracle Dataguard/RMAN
• Experience with Oracle product troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Participation in meetings to provide advice and recommendations

Responsibilities

• Understand and document database architecture design
• Define user access needs, monitor security
• Control permissions and privileges
• Develop, manage and test backup/recovery plans
• Ensure storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures function correctly
• Collaborate with IT PMs, developers and system architects
• Create shell scripts for automation (cron jobs)
• Create/test data management scripts
• Analyze and sustain capacity and performance
• Analyze, consolidate and tune DB for efficiency
• Monitor systems for availability
• Oversee backup, replication and failover
• Restore corrupted databases using backups
• Install, upgrade and patch databases
• Provide 24/7 support for critical situations

Role Description
