Job summary

Zen Computer Systems Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned database professional to govern, map, validate, and ensure data integrity across enterprise applications. You will collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, and Technical Leads to keep data accurate, mapped, and stored throughout the lifecycle.

Requirements include 5+ years in Oracle or MS SQL Server DB administration/engineering, strong SQL skills, data lineage experience, and a degree in CS/IT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT or related field.
• 5+ years in Oracle or MS SQL Server admin/engineering.
• Strong SQL, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with data mapping, lineage, and backend validation.
• Certifications in Oracle and/or MS SQL are a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain database structures across environments.
• Review schemas, tables, views, procedures, and relationships.
• Ensure designs meet business and technical requirements.
• Maintain data mapping and end-to-end traceability across apps and databases.
• Perform SQL-based backend validation and data reconciliation.
• Review deployment and rollback scripts.
• Identify and resolve design, integrity, and performance issues.
• Support SIT, UAT, and deployment activities.

We are seeking a skilled and responsible person for database governance, data mapping, backend validation, and data integrity across enterprise applications. Works closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, and Technical Leads to ensure data is accurately processed, mapped, and stored throughout the application lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain database structures across project environments.
• Review schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and relationships.
• Ensure database designs align with business and technical requirements.
• Maintain data mapping and end-to-end traceability between applications, APIs, and database layers.
• Perform SQL-based backend validation, data reconciliation, and integrity checks.
• Review database deployment and rollback scripts.
• Identify and resolve database design, integrity, and performance issues.
• Support SIT, UAT, and deployment activities.

About you

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database administration or database engineering.
• Strong SQL, database troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
• Experience in data mapping, data lineage, and backend data validation.
• Hands-on experience reviewing database deployment and rollback scripts.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL certifications are an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
