Job summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The candidate will perform engineering duties such as design, planning, and project management for MEP systems, contribute to high-profile projects, and may travel internationally for client meetings. Successful candidates will possess over 5 years of MEP engineering experience, ideally with data centre design knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience in Mechanical System.
  • Over 5 years of MEP engineering working experience, including data centre design projects.
  • Registered IMECHE or Chartered Engineer is preferred.

  • Perform engineering duties such as planning, engineering design, tender, testing and commissioning.
  • Produce MEP designs and engineering support in large scale projects.

About the job Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a team of passionate Consultants and Professionals, headquartered in Hong Kong. They have grown to be one of Asia's leading Consultancy firm with multiple offices across Asia, and a variety of projects specializing in IT, IoT, Security, ELV, Audio-Visual and Acoustics. They have an excellent track record working many high profile clients including numerous 5-star hotel groups, investment banks, MNCs, luxury shopping malls, education institutions, house of worships, leisure and entertainments.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing engineering duties such as planning, engineering design, tender, testing and commissioning.
  • Produce MEP designs and engineering support in large scale projects.
  • Lead and manage full mechanical design lifecycle, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and industry best practices.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure it is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Manage performance of all consultants, contractors and other external vendors.
  • Participate in client meetings, incorporate their feedback effectively, and forster enduring professional relationships.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical due diligence studies.
  • Coaching junior engineers.
  • Occassional overseas travel may be required to join customers' project meetings.

Requirements:

  • Recognised degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience in Mechanical System.
  • Over 5 years of MEP engineering working experience, including data centre design projects.
  • Able to work independently and as a team with good interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Registered IMECHE or Chartered Engineer is preferred.
  • Candidate with new building Data Centre Design experienceis preferred.
