Job summary

Jabil is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of PCBA test equipment, including FCT and ATE systems. You will design robust mechanical concepts, model in 3D, create 2D drawings, and support assembly, commissioning, and ongoing improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience with PCBA testing mechanisms, precision probe compression, and high-speed motion systems, with a focus on reliability and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical design and development experience in PCBA test equipment, fixtures, ATE, or FCT systems.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, assembly design, and 2D drawings.
• Knowledge of PCB test mechanisms, probe compression, and high-speed motion systems.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and development of PCBA test equipment including FCT, ATE, burn-in systems.
• Create complete 3D models, assembly designs, and 2D drawings; prepare BOMs and component specs.
• Perform tolerance analysis, interference checks, and maintain technical documentation.
• Develop PCBA testing mechanisms ensuring precise probe compression, accurate positioning, and repeatability.
• Assist commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of test equipment.
