Job summary

Jabil in Penang is seeking an PCBA Test Equipment Electrical Development Engineer to design electrical systems for ICT/FCT/ATE platforms and develop fixtures for automated testing. You will create schematics, select components, and validate integrated equipment while supporting NPI and mass production.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in EE/Automation and 3+ years in PCBA test equipment development, with experience in PLC programming and LabVIEW/Python/C#.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical, Electronics, Automation or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in PCBA test equipment development or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of ICT, FCT and ATE principles.
• Familiar with UART, CAN and RS485 communication protocols.
• Proficient with Altium Designer, EPLAN and AutoCAD.
• Experience with PLC programming, LabVIEW, Python or C# preferred.

PCBA Test Equipment Electrical Development Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for PCBA test equipment, including ICT, FCT, ATE, and other automated test platforms.
• Develop test fixtures, jigs, and automated testing solutions based on product testing requirements.
• Create electrical schematics, select components, and perform equipment integration, debugging, and validation.
• Develop and optimize functional testing, programming, aging, and reliability testing solutions.
• Analyze and resolve production line test issues to improve test coverage, efficiency, yield, and equipment reliability.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and provide technical support during mass production.
• Prepare technical documentation, operating procedures, and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in PCBA test equipment development, automated equipment design, or test system engineering.
• Strong understanding of ICT, FCT, ATE principles and electronic manufacturing test processes.
• Familiar with digital and analog circuit design, as well as communication protocols such as UART, CAN, and RS485.
• Proficient in electrical design tools such as Altium Designer, EPLAN, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to independently perform equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with PLC programming, LabVIEW, Python, C#, or industrial automation control systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Consumer Electronics, Automotive Electronics, or New Energy industries.
• Hands-on experience with MES integration, test data collection, and data analysis systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, industrial PCs, test system integration, and machine vision inspection systems.
• Experience in smart manufacturing or automated production line projects is highly desirable.
