Job summary

Jabil in Penang, Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of PCBA test equipment, including FCT/ATE and test fixtures. You will create 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and drive tolerance analysis, assembly procedures, and commissioning.

You will independently manage mechanical design projects, optimize tests, ensure safety and reliability, and collaborate with electronics and manufacturing teams to deliver high‑quality, repeatable test

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in independent mechanical design of PCBA test equipment, fixtures, ATE or FCT systems.
• Strong knowledge of PCBA testing processes, probe compression, and precision alignment is required.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling, assembly design, and creating manufacturing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and concept development for PCBA test equipment and fixtures.
• Develop layouts, operating sequences, and compression mechanisms based on requirements.
• Prepare BOMs, component specs, and assembly procedures.
