Job summary

Elsa Talent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur seeks a senior F(P)SO marine engineer to lead the full lifecycle from pre-bid through handover. You will coordinate hull, mooring, and installation activities, ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence.

The role requires 15+ years of FPSO experience, chartered status preferred, and proficiency with MOSES/STAAD/SACS; you will manage contractors and work with stakeholders in a demanding offshore environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years in FSO/FPSO marine engineering including design, fabrication, conversion, installation or life extension.
• Strong hull design, structural integrity, stability, station keeping and mooring system experience.
• Experience managing FSO/FPSO contractors, shipyards, project execution, cost and schedule.
• Proficiency with MOSES, STAAD.Pro, or SACS.
• Registered with BEM, RINA, or IMarEST; Chartered Engineer preferred.
• Knowledge of international marine standards and PETRONAS/PTTEPI processes.

Lead and coordinate F(P)SO marine engineering activities from pre-bid engineering and tender evaluation through contract award, engineering, conversion, installation, commissioning, and final handover. Ensure the project meets technical, safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead F(P)SO hull, marine, station-keeping, and cargo offloading engineering scopes.
• Review and verify hull design, mooring systems, structural integrity, stability, and marine engineering studies.
• Manage engineering deliverables, design assurance, contractor performance, and technical documentation.
• Lead technical evaluations, tender preparation, bid evaluations, and contract establishment.
• Oversee F(P)SO conversion, fabrication, offshore installation, commissioning, and first oil activities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with classification society rules, international maritime standards, regulatory requirements, and company HSE policies.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in FSO/FPSO marine engineering, including design, fabrication, conversion, installation, or life extension.
• Strong hands-on expertise in hull design, structural integrity, stability, station keeping, and mooring system design.
• Proven experience managing FSO/FPSO contractors, shipyard activities, project execution, cost, and schedule.
• Proficiency in marine engineering software such as MOSES, STAAD.Pro, or SACS.
• Experience with hull integrity, strength, stability, and life extension assessments.
• Registered with BEM, RINA, or IMarEST; Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
• Familiarity with international marine standards and PETRONAS, PTTEPI, or equivalent project maturation processes.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and decision-making skills.
