Job summary

MISC Group in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Lead Marine Piping Engineer to steer the design and execution of piping systems for floating offshore facilities. You will lead engineering deliverables, schedules and the overall technical direction to ensure safe, fit-for-purpose and cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years in marine piping design, with Hull build or vessel conversion experience, and proficiency in industry tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, CAESAR

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Marine) required.
• Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in marine piping design for floating offshore facilities.
• At least 2 years in design/engineering of hull builds or conversion of vessels to FPSO/FSO/FLNG.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, CAESAR II, AUTOPIPE and PipeData PRO.

Job description

• To manage resources, provide technical guidance and direction, ensuring completion and quality of deliverables within schedule and cost.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Lead the development of engineering deliverables and schedule for Marine Piping in Technology OBU, to ensure safe, fit-for-purpose, robust and cost-effective floating offshore facilities design and operation.
• Lead the development of marine piping design and operation philosophy, basis of design, functional specification and SOW for MSQ / RFQ of marine engineering sub-contracting services.
• Lead the execution of all engineering deliverables as per project planning and schedule.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant recognized qualifications – Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine or other related engineering) discipline.
• Preference: Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate / Registered with relevant professional body.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in engineering design of marine piping system for floating offshore facilities and/ or oil tanker, including:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in design and engineering of New Build Hull and conversion of existing oil tanker to floating offshore facilities (e.g. FPSO / FSO, FLNG, etc.).
• Experience and competent in the use of relevant analysis software, (e.g. AutoCAD, Naviswork Manage, CAESAR II, AUTOPIPE, PipeData PRO, etc.).
