Job summary

Equalbase in Malaysia seeks a Senior M&E Engineer / Assistant Project Manager (M&E) to oversee mechanical and electrical works from design development through commissioning and handover. The role supports the Project Manager to ensure all M&E systems are designed, coordinated, installed, tested and handed over in line with requirements, budget and schedule.

This position covers industrial, logistics, warehouse, commercial and mixed‑use developments with emphasis on building services,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in property development, consultancy or construction industry.
• Experience managing M&E packages on industrial, logistics, warehouse, commercial or mixed‑use projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with M&E consultants during design, tender and construction stages.
• Review M&E design drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Ensure M&E design is practical, cost‑effective and aligned with project requirements.
• Coordinate M&E services with architectural, structural and infrastructure works to avoid clashes.
• Coordinate utility infrastructure requirements including substations, transformer rooms, switch rooms and generator systems.
• Monitor M&E site progress against the project programme and conduct site inspections.
• Assist in budget control, tender review and handover activities.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and handover to facilities management.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
