Job summary

Commtech Asia (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee project delivery and coordinate with the commissioning team on site in Selangor, Malaysia.

The role covers testing, coordination, vendor documentation, and HS&E compliance, with travel to sites both domestically and internationally. Fresh graduates are welcome, with 2–5 years' experience preferred for more senior candidates.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering or similar qualifications.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or BI coordination is preferred.

Job description

We are looking for a Project Engineer to be responsible for project delivery and work closely with the commissioning team in site operations. The role supports project progression, ensuring expectations, procedures, and deadlines are met. More senior candidates will be considered as Senior Commissioning Engineer/ Assistant Commissioning Manager.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist Managers in ensuring the successful implementation of projects.

Undertake all testing and commissioning activities from factory tests to integrated systems tests in the final stage of projects.

Monitor site progress and coordinate site meetings.

Attend site meetings and address technical queries from clients.

Review and track vendor responses and method statements.

Witness contractor testing and commissioning results and confirming compliance.

Manage and handle project administration and documentation tasks.

Support HS&E compliance through PPE use, hazard reporting, documentation assistance, and safe work practices.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Diploma or above in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services Engineering or other similar qualifications

Good communication / interpersonal and negotiation skills to handle all stakeholders

Good command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in additional languages, such as Mandarin, is an added advantage but not mandatory.

Willing to travel within Malaysia and internationally. Temporary relocation may be required, and accommodation will be provided.

Immediately available is highly preferred
