Job summary

Genting Malaysia is seeking a Linux System Administrator to manage and secure multiple Linux servers in production. The role covers installation, patching, monitoring, and incident resolution, with basic Windows Server support as part of a broader IT team.

Experience required includes 1–3 years in Linux administration and familiarity with RHEL/Alibaba Linux, Windows Server, and VMware. Strong security practices and on-call readiness are valued in a fast-paced hospitality tech environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Linux system administration experience in production environments.
• Experience supporting Linux or Windows environments in mission critical settings.
• Knowledge of system hardening and security best practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers (RHEL, Alibaba Linux, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Linux OS.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and security.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, storage, file systems, and network configurations.
• Implement and maintain system hardening and security best practices.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents promptly.
• Provide basic administration for Windows Server environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Alibaba Linux, ubuntu or SUSE Linux servers.


• Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Linux operating systems.


• Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and security.


• Manage user accounts, permissions, storage, file systems, and network configurations.
