Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Unix/Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, and support our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure system reliability, performance, and security while supporting day-to-day operations.
What will you do?
Manage the redhat servers and administer the servers including operational, backup and meet the SLA.
Ensure high availability of Unix platforms Redhat, Solaris, HPUX that support business functions and external
Troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting the operation of the infrastructure.
Assist with planning and implementing systems integrations following M&A activity.
Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.
Operate as a technical expert (subject matter expert) on infrastructure projects pertaining to Linux, VMware, Oracle, Weblogic and Storage
Perform infrastructure design and implementations, performance analysis and optimization, systems monitoring and problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, and process creation and documentation.
Suggest improvements based on technology, best practices, or changing requirements.
Provide regular updates to management on advantages and potential opportunities for new technologies and automation.
Establish close working relationships with Team Leads, customers and Project Management.
Assist Technical Operations with testing & implementation of new technologies and/or services Work with and manage outside consulting technical subject matter experts as needed.
Help to resolve complex IT issues in a Tier 1 & 2 capacity.
Train/Mentor junior staff members as appropriate.
Experience in Oracle and WebLogic including methods, policies and procedures for installation, management, monitoring and support.
Understand the backup technology like Commvault, --Data Protector. Perform backup and restoration annually for systems.
Support Disaster Recovery exercise conducted by customer.
Qualifications
7-10 years of experience in Unix/Linux administration
Strong knowledge of Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Hands-on experience with shell scripting (Bash, Korn)
Familiarity with file systems, LVM, and RAID configurations
Experience in system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, etc.)
Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH)
Experience with patching and vulnerability management
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field
