Job summary

NCSI (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Unix/Linux Administrator to manage and support the IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and security. The role covers Red Hat servers, backups, SLA adherence, and high availability across Unix platforms including Red Hat, Solaris, and HPUX.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, system integrations post-M&A, documentation, and acting as SME for Linux, VMware, Oracle, WebLogic, and Storage.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of Unix/Linux administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Shell scripting (Bash, Korn).
• Familiarity with file systems, LVM, and RAID configurations.
• Experience with patching and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Manage Red Hat servers and administer operations, backups, and SLA compliance.
• Ensure high availability of Unix platforms (Red Hat, Solaris, HPUX) supporting business functions.
• Troubleshoot and remediate infrastructure issues.
• Plan and implement system integrations following M&A activity.
• Document design, operation and troubleshooting procedures.
• Act as SME on infrastructure projects involving Linux, VMware, Oracle, WebLogic and Storage.
• Design, implement, monitor, upgrade, and optimize infrastructure; develop processes and documentation.
• Suggest improvements based on technology trends and automation opportunities.
• Provide regular updates to management on new tech advantages and potential opportunities.
• Collaborate with Team Leads, customers and Project Management.
• Assist with testing and implementation of new technologies; work with external consultants as needed.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Experience with Oracle and WebLogic installation and management.
• Understand backup technologies like Commvault and Data Protector; perform backups/restoration annually.
• Support Disaster Recovery exercises.
