Job summary

Genting Malaysia Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a System Administrator to manage and troubleshoot Linux and Windows server environments in production.

The role includes installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, security hardening, incident resolution, with added involvement in SAP Basis operations, PowerShell scripting, VMware and Alibaba Cloud. This is an on-site position based in Kuala Lumpur.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Linux system administration experience.
• Experience supporting Linux or Windows environments.
• Experience working in production and mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers (RHEL/Ubuntu/SUSE) in production.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Linux operating systems.
• Monitor performance, capacity, availability, and security.
• Manage users, permissions, storage, filesystems, and network configs.
• Implement and maintain system hardening and security best practices.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents.
• Handle critical vulnerabilities.
• Handle audit/SOP documents.
• Provide basic Windows Server administration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Alibaba Linux, ubuntu or SUSE Linux servers.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Linux operating systems.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and security.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, storage, file systems, and network configurations.
• Implement and maintain system hardening and security best practices.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve system incidents in a timely manner.
• Handling Critical Vulnerabilities.
• Handling Audit / SOP Documents.
• Provide basic administration and operational support for Windows Server environments.
