Job summary

AGRO SNOW SDN BHD is seeking a hands-on WTP/WWTP Operator to support the operation of water and wastewater treatment plants. You will monitor processes, handle chemical dosing, perform basic lab tests and maintain records.

Priority is given to candidates with experience in both WTP and WWTP operations, who can work shifts and contribute to plant reliability and compliance with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with both WTP and WWTP operations.
• SPM/Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to monitor chemical dosing and perform basic laboratory testing.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Strong record-keeping and adherence to SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor WTP and WWTP systems; perform brine preparation and softener control.
• Conduct water quality tests and record results accurately.
• Backwash, regenerate and maintain water-treatment equipment.
• Monitor pumps, valves, DO, pH, COD and other parameters.
• Prepare treatment chemicals and collect samples for lab testing.
• Maintain daily logs and support maintenance activities.
• Ensure safety and DOE compliance.

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on WTP & WWTP Operator who can support the operation of both the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP / ETP).

The role will be responsible for monitoring treatment processes, operating water softener systems, chemical dosing, basic laboratory testing, equipment inspection, troubleshooting and maintaining accurate operating records.

Candidates with practical experience in both WTP and WWTP operations will be given priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP / ETP) systems.
• Carry out brine / salt preparation and monitor softener operating conditions.
• Perform water hardness checks and other basic water-quality testing.
• Carry out backwashing, rinsing and regeneration of water-treatment systems.
• Monitor pumps, blowers, tanks, filters, valves, piping and chemical dosing systems.
• Monitor and record key operating parameters including pH, flow, COD, TSS, DO, MLSS or other relevant parameters, where applicable.
• Prepare and dose treatment chemicals according to operating requirements.
• Collect water and wastewater samples and perform basic laboratory testing.
• Monitor influent, treated water and treated-effluent conditions.
• Perform sludge handling, filter press operation and sludge-cleaning activities where required.
• Carry out routine inspection and basic troubleshooting of WTP and WWTP equipment.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Identify abnormal operating conditions and report issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate daily operating logs, chemical-consumption records and inspection records.
• Maintain good housekeeping in WTP and WWTP areas.
• Follow all SOP, PPE, LOTO, chemical-handling and workplace-safety requirements.
• Support compliance with environmental and DOE requirements.
• Assist with plant commissioning, start-up and shutdown activities where required.

Requirements

SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.

Preferably 1–3 years of hands-on WTP and WWTP / ETP experience.

Candidates should have practical exposure to both water treatment and wastewater treatment systems.

Experience with water softener operation and regeneration is highly preferred.

Familiar with:

• Hardness testing
• Backwashing
• Basic laboratory testing
• Pumps, valves, blowers and treatment equipment

Experience with Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems is an advantage.

Experience in food, beverage, chemical or process manufacturing is preferred.

Able to perform basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance support.

Good safety awareness and understanding of chemical handling.

Able to maintain proper operating records and follow SOPs.

Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

Senior Operator

Preferably 8-10 years or more of relevant WTP and WWTP experience.

Able to independently operate both WTP and WWTP systems.

Able to troubleshoot basic process and equipment abnormalities.

Able to guide junior operators and support daily plant operations.

Junior Operator

Preferably 5 years of relevant WTP / WWTP experience.

Candidates with strong practical exposure to either system may be considered if they have knowledge of both.

Willing to learn and support both WTP and WWTP operations under supervision.
