Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations and maintenance. This is a 1-year contract position, with a huge potential for renewal or conversion to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

The successful candidate will manage the daily operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems across industrial facilities. The role focuses on optimizing treatment processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, reduce downtime, and improve overall efficiency. Proficiency in SAP and a strong commitment to safety and compliance are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the WWTP, including monitoring system parameters, adjusting process controls, and optimizing treatment performance.
• Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs; perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate timely repairs to reduce downtime.
• Analyze plant performance data and identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
• Ensure treated effluent meets environmental and regulatory standards through regular sampling, testing, and corrective actions.
• Enforce workplace safety procedures and maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
• Develop and execute emergency response plans to minimize the impact of equipment or process failures.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and support to plant operators and maintenance teams.
• Assist in the preparation and management of budgets, monitor operational costs, and ensure optimal use of resources.
• Utilize SAP for maintenance and operational tracking and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in WWTP operations and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, related equipment, and regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with process control systems, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process‑related issues.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and external agencies.
• Committed to maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required
