Job summary

Wawasan Open University (WOU) seeks a skilled Project Manager to lead and deliver end-to-end IT/system implementation projects for university management systems.

The role requires coordinating across internal departments, IT teams, vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, readiness, and smooth rollout. Strong communication and risk management skills, plus experience in higher education, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Project Management certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management or IT/system implementation.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end IT/system implementation projects.
• Strong vendor, stakeholder and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Good knowledge of project planning, implementation, risk and change management.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Experience in higher education/university or large organisations is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end projects involving implementation and enhancement of university management systems.
• Coordinate project activities across internal departments, IT teams, vendors and stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables and activities.
• Ensure vendors deliver requirements and deliverables within the timeline.
• Coordinate business, operational and user readiness for system implementation.
• Facilitate communication and decision-making among stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Coordinate system transition, knowledge transfer and operational readiness.
• Prepare project status updates, reports and meeting minutes for Management.
• Maintain project records and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Perform other project-related duties as assigned by Management.
