The IT Project Manager, you will play a key role in plan and manage digital and non-digital projects in line with corporate strategy and goals, using either SDLC or Agile Methodology. Manage and supervise the implementation of applications projects (waterfall and agile) to meet users requirements, objectives, cost, timeline and expected benefits. Develop and manage project plans and budgets, coordinate business requirements gathering, documentation and stakeholders approval to ensure successful project delivery while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements. Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, establish good working relationship with stakeholders, and effectively communicate project milestones, risks and status updates to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management:
- Ensure projects are managed as planned, meeting scope, objectives, timelines, and costs.
- Ensure accurate and timely project reporting for transparency and visibility of progress and issues.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on project status, schedule, changes, and issues/risks.
- Work with the business to understand their needs, suggest ideas, and provide solutions.
- Create and monitor risk response plans.
- Maintain continuous engagement and communication with stakeholders, project teams, and vendors.
- Organize and conduct PSC and PWC meetings with stakeholders and senior management, including preparing approval papers for initiatives and projects.
Project Standards:
- Ensure standard project management methods and tools are used.
- Supervise ITIL Change Management processes and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure projects adhere to internal standards, audit processes, and meet technical and user specifications.
- Conduct Post Implementation Reviews and lessons learned.
Team and Supplier Management:
- Manage supplier delivery and quality.
- Lead project teams to reduce defect leakage for SIT/UAT/Production.
- Manage project CAPEX until implementation and transition to application/service owner for recurring OPEX.
- Assist in business case preparation, RFP, and participate in the tender process and contract management.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications & Requirement:
- Passed the Malay Language (including oral test) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: Project Management and Scrum Master certifications are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of total working experience, including 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in software project and/or programme management, preferably involving complex, enterprise-wide technology initiatives. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) models, with in-depth knowledge of both traditional and agile project management principles and practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing at least 5 end-to-end project lifecycles, from inception and business case development through RFP/tender, vendor evaluation and selection, planning, implementation, transition and operations.
- Experience in managing or contributing to programme-level initiatives, including coordination across multiple projects, stakeholders, workstreams and dependencies.
- Previous experience in the financial services industry.
- Recent exposure (within the last 5 years) to enterprise solutions and technology platforms, with demonstrated experience in core system implementation, modernisation, transformation and/or migration programmes, including solutions supporting digital channels, operations, ERP, fund systems/solutions, or other enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work across the full project/programme lifecycle, including requirements, planning, governance, procurement, vendor management, delivery, risk and issue management, stakeholder management, implementation and transition to operations.
Skills:
- Demonstrated Ability to coordinate and plan sprints around business requirements, cultivating Agile values and principles.
- Experience with Agile frameworks or methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and proficiency in Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- Familiarity with requirement gathering through user stories, prioritizing, facilitating workshops, and documentation.
- Skilled in business partnering, ability to learn new business domains, requirements elicitation and management, business process analysis and design, and usability.
