Job summary

Wawasan Open University in Penang is seeking an experienced IT/Project Manager to lead end-to-end system implementations and enhancements across university management platforms. You will coordinate across departments, IT teams, vendors and key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and readiness for rollout.

The role requires minimum 5 years in project management or IT implementation, a relevant Bachelor’s degree, and strong planning, risk and change management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management or IT/system implementation.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end IT/system implementation projects.
• Good knowledge of project planning, risk and change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end projects involving the implementation and enhancement of university management and information systems.
• Coordinate project activities across internal departments, IT teams, vendors and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Develop and monitor project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables and implementation activities.
• Ensure vendors deliver agreed requirements and project deliverables within the stipulated timeline.
• Coordinate business, operational and user readiness for system implementation and rollout.
• Facilitate communication, collaboration and decision-making among stakeholders to resolve project issues and ensure project progress.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution.
• Coordinate system transition, knowledge transfer, ownership handover and operational readiness.
• Prepare project status updates, reports, meeting minutes and relevant documentation for Management and project steering committees.
• Maintain proper project records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform other project-related duties as assigned by Management.
