Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking an Infrastructure Level 2 Operations specialist in Selangor, Petaling Jaya. You will provide L2 server and database support for Windows and Unix, with a heavy emphasis on automation in a hybrid cloud environment across multiple data centers.

The role focuses on incident management, performance monitoring and capacity planning, and requires collaboration with Level 3 engineers to drive improvements and AI-powered process enhancements. 12-hour shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/EE/Software/IS.
• Experience in Windows Server 2019, 2016 and RHEL, MS SQL and Oracle.
• Interest in hardware and virtualization tech (Cisco UCS, HPE ProLiant, VMware, Nutanix, OpenShift, Citrix).
• Certifications from Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and Cisco are a plus.
• Programming/scripting knowledge: Java, PowerShell, Python.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for server and DB operations in Windows and Unix environments.
• Provide L2 support and participate in Major incidents.
• Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met.
• Monitor KPIs such as breach case target, MTTR and escalation target.
• Install and upgrade firmware, apply patches and changes as required.
• Diagnose OS/hardware errors to ensure high availability.
• Monitor server performance and analyze cases to prevent recurrences.
• Enhance monitoring/alerting to reduce noise.
• Develop procedures related to server operations.
• Create and manage reports, dashboards for Windows/Unix ops.
• Perform capacity planning and participate in DR drills.
• Collaborate with Level 3 for improvements and reliability.
• Build/maintain automation for system health checks.
• Leverage AI technologies to improve efficiency and processes.
