Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer/Engineer IT - Data Services (Shift rotation) in Penang. You will provide L2 support for database operations, ensuring 24/7 coverage and participating in major incidents while maintaining SLA targets and high-quality service.

The role requires strong experience with SQL Server/Oracle, Linux/Windows, and scripting languages, plus excellent communication. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and shift flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.
• Advantageous: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, Linux/Windows OS, Java, PowerShell, Python.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Flexible to work on day and night shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support in incident, request, change and problem management related to database operations.
• Provide 24/7 operational support and participate in Major incidents.
• Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work.
• Monitor database performance and resolve issues to maintain availability.
• Install and upgrade database systems, apply patches and changes when required.
• Develop processes and operation procedures for database operations.
• Build and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Leverage AI and agentic solutions to automate operational workflows.
