Job summary

MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking aSenior Discipline Lead Engineer to manage engineering work from start to finish on EPC projects in the petrochemical sector. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
• Registered engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• 6 years experience in executing engineering work in Oil & Gas.
• High technical capability across discipline.
• Able to train and supervise younger engineers.
• Able to support Project team in discussions with Client Engineers/Managers.
• Experience providing input on constructability, operability and maintenance.
• Strong communication with engineers and Designers for design integrity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure technical and quality matters of design deliverables, schedule compliance and budget control.
• Perform conceptual, basic and detailed design calculations and drawings.

• Prepare technical requisitions/specifications/data sheets/MTO.
• Prepare technical bid evaluations.
• Incorporate vendor data and drawings and provide interface information to other departments.
• Provide input to project management / client / site during construction / commissioning.

Job Purpose

• Manage all aspects of engineering work assigned from start to finish and ensure that all work is carried out within the set time, budgetary, quality and technical requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Able to undertake Discipline Lead Engineer role for a project or tender work.
• Analysis of technical contractual documents and design criteria.
• Responsible for technical and quality matter of design deliverables, schedule compliance and budget control by rpoviding input to project execution plans and schedules for the project.
• Perform or initiate conceptual, basic design and detail design calculation and drawings.
• Able to interface with the Client Engineers during project execution work.
• Able to plan project work effectively and ensure all project work is done according to schedule and budget.
• Prepare technical requisitions/specifications/data sheets/MTO.
• Prepare technical bid evaluations.
• Prepare and incorporate vendor data and drawings.
• Provide necessary interface information to other departments.
• Provide technical advice and input to other disciplines /Project Management / Client / Site / during construction / pre-commissioning / commissioning / start-up / acceptance test.
• Assists HOS (Head of Section ) in Discipline and department development work.
• Perform any other functions as allocated by HOS (Head of Section) / HOD (Head of Department).

Qualifications

• Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
• Registered engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• 6 years experience in executing engineering work in Oil & Gas Industry.
• Possess high technical capability in most aspects of his/her discipline.
• Able to train and supervise younger engineers in some aspects of his/her discipline.
• Able to support Project team and/or Business Development group in discussions with Client Engineers/Managers as experts in his/her field.
• Experience in providing input on constructability, operational and maintenance issues in the design.
• Have effective communications skill with engineers and Designers to ensure design integrity and consistency
