Job summary

The Senior Industrial Manager will direct and optimize manufacturing efficiency across EMS, PCBA, SMT, and final assembly lines in Penang. You will lead a team of industrial engineers to drive lean improvements, reduce cycle times, and support rapid new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of Industrial Engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing IE teams.
• Strong experience in EMS, PCBA, SMT or electronics contract manufacturing environments.
• Advanced knowledge of capacity planning, manpower planning, labor modeling and production line balancing.
• Hands-on layout optimization, time studies, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and Six Sigma methodologies; Green/Black Belt an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MES and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize factory layouts, material flow, and ergonomic workstations to maximize throughput.
• Lead line balancing, bottleneck analysis, and cycle-time reduction across SMT, PCBA, and final assembly lines.
• Implement automated material handling and Industry 4.0 solutions where applicable.
• Oversee capacity modeling for equipment, space, and labor to support demand and bids.
• Partner with program management to evaluate ramp readiness and CAPEX requirements.
• Establish labor standards, SOPs, and time studies.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma to reduce waste and costs.
• Establish IE metrics, dashboards, and data governance for daily/weekly KPIs.
• Collaborate with Quality, Process Eng., Production, Supply Chain, and Finance to resolve bottlenecks.
• Provide DFM feedback during early product development and NPI phases.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of IE professionals.
• Foster accountability, innovation, and systematic problem-solving.
