Macdermid Performance Solutions in Malaysia is seeking a skilled HR Generalist to deliver end-to-end HR operations for Malaysia while supporting regional activities in Southeast Asia.
You will manage payroll inputs, employee lifecycle, onboarding, contracts, salary adjustments, and compliance with Malaysian employment law, using SAP SuccessFactors. This role requires 3–5 years in a manufacturing HR environment and strong communication.
Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, Southeast Asia, this role is primarily responsible for delivering end-to-end HR operations for Malaysia while supporting selected regional HR activities across Southeast Asia. The incumbent will partner with managers and employees to ensure smooth execution of HR processes, compliance with local employment legislation, and a positive employee experience. Approximately 70–80% of the role will focus on supporting Malaysia operations, with the remaining 20–30% supporting regional HR initiatives and projects across Southeast Asia.
Key responsibilitiesProvide end-to-end HR operational support for Malaysia
Manage the employee lifecycle, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, employee movements, transfers and offboarding
Prepare employment-related documents, including employment contracts, confirmation, promotion, salary adjustment, transfer and separation letters
Support monthly payroll by ensuring timely and accurate submission of payroll inputs and validating payroll reports
Administer employee benefits, insurance, medical claims and statutory requirements
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely updates in SuccessFactors
Support probation, performance management and annual salary review processes
Handle employee enquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
Coordinate training programmes, employee engagement activities and learning initiatives
Administer work permits, employment passes and immigration matters where applicable
About youBachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline
Minimum 3–5 years of HR generalist experience in a multinational manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience in payroll administration and employee lifecycle management
Sound knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and statutory requirements
Experience using HRIS such as SAP SuccessFactors
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Customer-focused with a proactive and service-oriented mindset
Well organised with strong attention to detail
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
