Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead high-rise building projects from planning to handover. You will oversee site teams, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring works align with drawings, specs, schedules and safety standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, resolving issues, coordinating with consultants and authorities, and controlling costs and quality to meet project timelines and budget.

Responsibilities

To plan, coordinate and manage the overall construction activities for high-rise building projects.
To ensure all site works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, construction schedules, quality standards and safety requirements.
To supervise and coordinate Site Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and other site personnel.
To monitor project progress and ensure construction works are completed according to the approved work schedule and project timeline.
To identify potential delays, site issues and construction problems, and take necessary corrective actions to minimise impact on the project.
To coordinate with Project Manager, Consultants, Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and relevant authorities on technical and site-related matters.
To monitor manpower, materials, machinery and equipment requirements to ensure sufficient resources are available for project execution.
To ensure proper coordination and sequencing of works among different subcontractors and construction trades.
To monitor the quality of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and required standards.
To ensure all site activities comply with safety, health and environmental requirements and company policies.
To conduct regular site inspections and site meetings, and follow up on outstanding issues.
To review and monitor daily, weekly and monthly site progress reports and update management on project status.
To manage and control site costs, wastage, materials usage and other resources within the approved project budget.
To ensure proper documentation, record keeping and submission of relevant site reports and project information.
To monitor and resolve site issues, including technical problems, coordination issues, manpower shortages and subcontractor performance.
To provide guidance, supervision and performance monitoring to site personnel.
To attend project meetings and provide updates, recommendations and solutions to management and consultants.
To ensure proper handover, defect rectification and completion of the project within the required timeline.
