Job summary

GXS is seeking an experienced backend developer to design and implement scalable Go-based services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect efficient systems, review code, and optimize performance.

The role emphasizes clean code, RESTful services, and microservice ownership, including mentoring juniors and contributing to design docs. You will work with infra and product teams to prototype features, scale services, and ensure reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of backend dev experience.
• Willing to work in Golang.
• Strong understanding of design patterns (Singleton, Factory, etc).
• Solid grasp of clean code and SOLID principles.
• Understanding of clean architecture principles.
• Experience building HTTP RESTful services and messaging with Kafka or SQS.
• Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with cloud deployment (AWS).
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
• Exposure to microservice architectures from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and write Golang code to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of services.
• Collaborate with engineering to create scalable architectures.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold standards.
• Engage in capacity planning, performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
• Define and prototype feature specifications with product and experience teams.
• Work with infrastructure to scale back-end services and perform root cause analysis.
• Design, build, and analyze large-scale systems.
• Learn full-stack performance tuning and optimization.
• Debug and modify production software.
• Develop features per product specs.
• Author design documents per functional requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices.
• Own several microservices within the squad.
