Job summary

Altera in Penang invites an Engineering Manager to lead FPGA Applications Engineering focused on the HPS, configuration and security of Altera FPGA devices. You will mentor engineers, develop technical collateral, design examples, validate releases and drive technology adoption across the embedded portfolio.

You will partner with the North America applications team, influence product requirements, and help ensure customer success while building a high-performing, globally integrated organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in applications engineering, embedded systems, FPGA development, software engineering, system architecture, or related technical fields.
• 3+ years of experience leading global teams, projects, or technical organizations.
• Preferred: ARM-based embedded systems and Linux operating systems; FPGA configuration architectures and programming methods.
• Experience with device security technologies including authentication, encryption, key management, secure boot, or secure manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of applications engineers located in Penang, Malaysia, driving technical excellence, innovation, accountability and customer focus.
• Guide development of application notes, user guides, tutorials, design examples, demonstrations, and training materials for customer adoption.
• Drive product readiness activities and ensure software/hardware releases meet customer requirements and quality expectations.
• Serve as escalation point for complex customer issues involving embedded processors, device configuration, boot flows, and system security, and oversee reference designs and training materials.
