Qualifications

• Solid understanding of taxation principles and compliance in Malaysia.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance & Account professional to join our team on a full-time basis at our office in Puchong, Selangor. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial accounting and reporting functions of the organisation. This position is integral to ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of our financial records, whilst providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. You will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of Bina Maju Infra and contribute significantly to the company's overall success.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and relevant accounting standards
• Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation of transactions
• Manage the general ledger and ensure all journal entries are recorded accurately and appropriately
• Conduct regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies
• Prepare financial reports and analyses for management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for financial improvements
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors during audit processes
• Maintain robust internal controls and implement best practices in accounting procedures and documentation
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development
• Liaise with external parties including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required
• Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, ACA, or equivalent recognised qualification
• Minimum 4-10 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles, preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or related industries
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including advanced spreadsheet skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and generally accepted accounting practices
• Solid understanding of taxation principles and compliance requirements in Malaysia
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, concise financial reports
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in supervising and developing accounting teams
• Integrity and a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
• Proficiency in interpreting financial data and providing strategic recommendations
