Job summary

Power Integrations in Penang seeks a Staff Failure Analysis Engineer with deep expertise in wafer fabrication and hands-on experience with foundries. You will lead supplier quality programs, oversee FEOL/BEOL processes, and drive data-driven improvements across a global wafer supply base.

You will collaborate with supplier teams to define quality strategies, review process controls, and manage defect investigation and corrective actions to ensure high reliability of semiconductor products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication or supplier quality.
• Experience interfacing with wafer fabs or foundries.
• Strong knowledge of FEOL and BEOL processes and inline metrology.
• Experience with SPC, DOE, FMEA, MSA, 8D methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical quality interface to wafer fabs and foundry partners, ensuring alignment on quality expectations, process capability, and long‑term improvement plans.
• Provide deep technical oversight of wafer fabrication processes, including lithography, etch, deposition, CMP, implant, diffusion, and BEOL metallization.
• Lead complex problem‑solving efforts for supplier issues, excursions, and defects with rigorous root cause analysis and durable corrective actions.
• Conduct in‑depth technical audits focused on wafer fab capability, quality systems, reliability performance, and process maturity.
• Drive improvement initiatives to elevate supplier capability and reduce variability.
