Job summary

Carro is seeking a diligent accounting professional in Malaysia to manage month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations for accurate financial reporting. You will analyze variances, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle NetSuite, are required to support audits and process improvements within a fast-growing Southeast Asian marketplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3–4 years of month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience in shared services or BPM/BPO.
• Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle large datasets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post general ledger journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are supported by appropriate documentation, with discrepancies investigated and resolved promptly.
• Review general ledger balances and conduct variance analysis to identify unusual movements, errors, and potential risks.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including proper GL coding and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and business units to resolve accounting queries and ensure smooth end-to-end RTR operations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested documents, schedules, and explanations within agreed timelines.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance operational efficiency through standardization and automation

Qualification and Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are an advantage.
• Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in month-end closing, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience working in a shared Services function or as part of a BPO.
• Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards with a solid technical accounting background.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with Oracle NetSuite is an advantage.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets, manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to change.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple entities or business units.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
